You know how sometimes it’s just one of “those days”? Well, that Friday it actually WAS one of them for me. I was working backstage during a popular radio festival, helping all the performers and presenters get to their waiting rooms and onto the stage, constantly speaking into my walkie talkie, guiding people places, moving items, etc. My head was pounding, my body ached, but of course I continued working, as always. I tried my best to hide my discomfort, stopping to frown or take deep breaths when nobody was around, but I guess I wasn’t as sneaky as I thought because about three hours into my shift, Yoongi from BTS approached me and asked if I was ok. I gave him a really fake smile and assured him that I was definitely ok, nothing was wrong and let him know that I could get him anything he needed.
He frowned and took a step closer, then whispered, “I know you aren’t ok, so please tell me the truth. I want to know what is bothering you. You can trust me.” I should have ignored him or walked away or literally done anything other than what he wanted, but did I? Nope, I did not. I literally opened my big mouth and replied, “Well, you know how I’m a girl and you are a guy?” He nodded, eagerly waiting for me to continue, then staring into my soul when I hesitated. I sighed, then added, “Each month something happens to girls and it makes life really difficult for a few days…” He just kept staring at me, not getting my intent, so I continued, “During these few days girls get stomach cramps, headaches, backaches, and don’t feel very well at all, which makes it hard to work in loud, crowded places full of people.”
He finally understood, then had an “ah-ha” moment and reached for my right hand, glanced around, then whispered in my ear, “Is it one of those days for you right now?” I nodded, expecting him to run as far away as possible, but instead, he grasped my other hand gently, looked straight into my eyes, and asked, “What can I do to help make your life easier? If there was anything in the world you could have, what would it be?”
I stared up at his concerned face and really should have given him some generic answer, but obviously I didn’t- that’s just not my style. Instead, I replied, “I want a nap and a cuddle in a dark, quiet, cool room.”
He nodded, then said, “Ok, I’ll see what I can do.” He turned and walked away, confusing me and making me question my sanity. I had no time to replay the event in my mind, since there was a performance coming up and I was involved with the process, so I swung right back into work mode and tried to forget about what I had told Yoongi, assuming I wouldn’t see him again. Wrong.
An hour later, he came back to find me, now in a completely other area backstage, lining up microphones on a table at the moment, for the next award presenters. He smiled and approached me, saying, “I am working on a plan to make you happy. Is there anything else I can do right now, to ease your pain? I want to be useful. I hate sitting around waiting.” I looked up at him, my spiciness level up extremely high because I needed a bathroom/pain meds break, but wouldn’t get one until after the next award was presented, so when I responded I started with, “Yoongi, I know you are just trying to be nice to me and I truly do appreciate it and I am sure that on any other day I would be very grateful for your time and efforts, but I am stressed, worried, aching, and just plain irritated with the world right now, so please don’t be offended if I don’t seem overly excited to see you or hear about your amazing ideas. I promise I am a sweet person normally, but you are seeing the cranky version of me and I am truly sorry.”
He actually laughed at me, then rubbed my arm, as he replied, “Don’t worry- I won’t take anything personally. I have seen your sweet side with the other performers, and I know I can find her again if I don’t give up. Just tell me exactly what to do and I will help make you less stressed and worried if I can.”
I sighed, admitting defeat, then pointed to the stack of award cards that needed to be sorted into the correct categories before the next presenter arrived. He was eager to help, and actually made my job go faster, which I was thankful for, so when we finished and the presenters were on stage, had given the awards, and returned the mics to me, I threw my arms around him and exclaimed, “Thank you so much Yoongi! I don’t know what I would have done without you!” He chuckled and gently hugged me back, then whispered in my ear, “I told you I would find her again.”
Since it was finally time for my quick break, I told him I had to run to the employee break room and use the bathroom, so he just waited outside in the hallway for me. When I returned, he asked if he had helped lower my stress and worry, so I replied, “Yes, and no.” He frowned, trying to read my face, but also trying to respect my personal space at the same time. He asked why I answered like that, so I explained, “Yes, you lowered my stress by helping me, but no, you didn’t lower my worries because until I am done working and can get to a place where I am not constantly being watched by other people, I will continue to do so.”
He stepped closer and asked why, and even though I really did not want to give him all the tiny details of my life, I was so trusting of his genuine ability to charm me with his calmness, I blurted out, “I am still worried that everyone can tell it’s my time of the month, even though my entire uniform is black, so I’m still paranoid about others noticing, ok? I know it’s not rational, but that’s the truth. Please don’t be mad.” He leaned closer and said quietly, “You look perfectly cute to me, and I’ve been watching you all day, so if there was any way to tell, I would have seen it already and told you. You can always trust me.” I looked up, saw his face super close to mine and froze- this had not been in the employee training I went through.
I think he could sense my brain overloading, so he stepped back and observed, “We only have four more hours of this event and then you will be off work, correct?” I nodded, still unable to speak properly. He smiled, then continued, “After work, would you like to join us for dinner, since I am assuming you haven’t eaten all day, as none of your breaks have been more than ten minutes, that I have seen anyway.” I opened and closed my mouth, wondering how in the world he had seen what everyone else around me had not seen.
“Yoongi, are you sure it will be ok with the other members? I’m just some random backstage girl- they might not trust me like you do,” I finally questioned. He laughed and answered, “Actually, I’ve already told them about you, and they are excited to meet, so that won’t be an issue.” I felt my cheeks start turning pink, then replied shakily, “I don’t know if I’m ready for that kind of pressure, especially not tonight. I might not have the energy or brain power to handle such an occasion.” He brushed his hand on one of my cheeks, then said, “Don’t worry, I’ve got it all planned out. After you are done working, you won’t need to worry about anything. You can be yourself and we can be ourselves and we will fit together like puzzles. Just wait.”
I wanted so desperately to believe him, so I nodded, once again under his spell. He said something about needing to go finalize details and disappeared, allowing my brain to begin working again and me to focus on my job. The next few hours flew by, but of course I was constantly worried about having bathroom breaks and getting my pain meds before they wore off, so I truly could not tell you what I did, other than help people present and receive awards.
Yoongi came back multiple times, but since I was extremely busy, his questions were random and made no sense to me. For example, he asked me what bothered me most about staying at hotels during this time of the month and I immediately blurted out that white towels were the enemy and for once, I wished hotels would offer dark colors to girls upon request. He did not ask why but clearly did not understand- not his fault. He also asked what my perfect outfit would be- I didn’t think twice before telling him baggy sweatpants and an oversized hoodie so I could hide and pretend I was invisible, where nobody could judge my body. He frowned after that one, saying something about nobody judging me while I was working because my work uniform looked good on me, but I fully ignored him- I was not in the mood for compliments at the moment. After several more of these weird interactions, it was finally time for BTS to perform, so I had all their mics ready, handing them to the members as they walked past me, expecting to be invisible to them as well, like I had been to all the other famous performers. I was wrong.
JK ran right over and hugged me, spinning me and laughing, then handed me right to Tae, who did the exact same thing. I stumbled, dizzy, then Joon caught me, hugged me, passed me to Hobi, then to Jimin, and when Jin got to me, he patted my head and winked, leaving Yoongi for last, who hugged me tightly and whispered, “Told you they liked you already.” His grin was so big it could have lit up the entire stage alone.
I was thoroughly perplexed, as I had not met any of the other members until that very moment, so how could they possibly like anything about me already? If I had been thinking straight, I would have figured out that Yoongi was feeding them the info I was giving him, then involving them on the plan to somehow make my dream come true after work. When they were done singing, they each handed me back their mics, placing them gently on the table, then repeating the process, this time without the spinning, so I did not get dizzy and I appreciated that. Yoongi was not last this time- Jimin was, so he was able to stop, look right into my eyes, and ask, “Are you going to be ok for dinner later with us? We really want you to come.”
I smiled and nodded, which made him jump for joy and run down the hall to catch up with the others. Soon, it was 11pm and the awards show was over for the first day, so I was done working. I used the bathroom before leaving work but couldn’t take any pain meds because I still had 2 hours to go until the previous dose wore off. I had no clue how Yoongi was going to find me, as I was not allowed to have my phone on me while working and he couldn’t waste his entire evening searching for me. No worries, when I stepped out of the employee area, there he was, waiting on the wall, like he had planned to be there the whole time. He grinned, ran his fingers through his hair, and held out his hand for me, which I took because blindly trusting him was apparently the only thing I was able to do at that moment.
He led me down the hall, towards the parking area, then into a waiting van, where I was greeted by JK and Tae shouting my name over and over, plus Jimin cheering for me. I was too shocked to react for a second, then I blushed and shook my head, trying to hide, but it just made them louder, so once I was inside and Yoongi had made sure I was buckled, he closed the back door and climbed into the passenger seat in the front. The ride was short, but I had no clue where we were going-again with the blind trust on my part. Within fifteen minutes we were dropped off at a restaurant that served what appeared to be a mix of Asian foods, so I figured we would all be happy.
Before I could unbuckle, JK had reached over the seat and done it for me, then pushed the button on the door to open it, somehow jumped over me, hopped out, and stood next to my seat, his hand out, slightly bowing, like waiting for a princess to exit. I laughed so hard Jimin and Hobi couldn’t breathe, which made everyone else smile too, especially Yoongi, who had already known I would fit right in with them. As we walked up to the restaurant, I was looking up at the sky, to see the stars, when I tripped, forcing Yoongi to catch me, bringing me back to reality, where I apologized for being clumsy, but he said it was adorable instead. After we entered the restaurant, it was obvious they had closed for BTS to dine alone, which was impressive, but also a bit creepy because the only space for us to sit together was this gigantic rectangle table they had created in the middle, out of several smaller tables, with other random chairs surrounding it, like a crowd watching the table perform. I was happy the bodyguards were joining us, so there were extra people who would be talking, taking the pressure off me to be the entertainment, which made me smile with relief. Jin asked me why I was smiling, but I just lied and said I was happy to be with them- he wasn’t as good as Yoongi at reading my mind, so I knew I could fool him easily.
We didn’t order anything- a ton of food just randomly appeared, I have no idea why, so when everyone was trying to figure out where to sit, they began arguing over who should be next to me. In the end, Tae got the left side (he also can’t have spicy foods, so we got to share a lot) and Jimin took the right. Yoongi insisted he sit across from me, which I thought was odd, but should have known he had an ulterior motive. Jimin spent most of the meal laughing with me and Hobi, while Tae spent most of the meal cutting up food for me and trying to explain what he was giving me, which I really appreciated. We had been there for about an hour and a half when I started getting full, not really being able to eat a ton anyways, then my eyes got heavy, so I leaned on Tae’s shoulder, which he didn’t mind.
The loudness of the table, paired with the bright lights of the dining area itself, was making my head feel like fireworks were exploding inside my brain, so I waited a few minutes, trying to stay calm, but then couldn’t stand it anymore and excused myself to use the bathroom. Once inside, I took care of business, washed my hands, then found a dark corner near the sink and sat down, resting my head on my knees for some peace and quiet, my head now pounding loudly, making me nauseous again. Within five minutes, there was a knock on the door, then when I didn’t answer, the door opened, Yoongi stepped in, saw me, and knelt by my side, sounding extremely worried as he asked, “Are you ok in here? You didn’t come back, so I had to come check on you.”
I looked up at him, now unable to hide the truth, especially with him, as I replied quietly, “It’s just too loud and bright out there for me right now. My head feels like it is going to explode, but I don’t have any more pain meds on me- they are all back at the hotel with my luggage. I don’t think it was a good idea to bring me along after all Yoongi- I am a terrible guest.” My eyes started tearing up, which he heard when my voice cracked, prompting him to sit next to me and put his arm around me as he assured me, “You are a great guest, but it’s not your fault you are in pain. Let’s get back to the hotel and give you what you need ok?”
I stared back at him, very confused now, as I asked, “What do you mean? How could you possibly have what I need when you don’t even know which hotel I am at, or where my luggage is?” He gave me a sneaky smile, then confessed, “Well, I may or may not have figured that part out earlier; remember when I was asking all those annoying questions? I kind of got your manager on my side, got your hotel key, sent a staff member to get your stuff and had them bring it to our rooms for tonight. So technically, you have the same hotel as us and you will get your pain meds as soon as we all arrive back at the same hotel. Please don’t hate me for being so bold, but I knew you deserved to be spoiled and pampered tonight and would never ask for it on your own. I took matters into my own hands to make your dream come true, which I believe can still happen.”
All I could do was stare at him, completely blown away by his confession, unsure of whether I should be upset, or angry, or grateful, or a mixture of everything, but I was so relieved in that moment to hear that I could leave this bright noisy place I did not care where my stuff was. I had no words, so I leaned my head on his shoulder, just hoping he would read my mind, which happened to work because he kissed the top of my head and whispered, “Thank you for trusting me enough to see this through.”
After a few more minutes, he asked, “Are you ready to go now? I told everyone I wasn’t feeling well when I escaped to the bathroom a bit ago when I went to find you, so I believe they should be ready to go by the time we get back out there. I figured you wouldn’t want the attention on you when we returned, so I made up an excuse.” I squeezed his hand to show I agreed, just couldn’t say it yet.
He helped me up, then gave me a quick hug and led me back out to the dining area, where it was even louder and brighter than I remembered, causing me to actually wince and cover my eyes. Luckily, everyone was heading out the doors, so nobody noticed me and Yoongi was able to easily guide me back to the vans and get me buckled in, this time, with me in the very back next to him, where I could lean on him without everyone watching. I was super carsick the entire ride, even with the windows open, so I was thankful I hadn’t eaten very much at dinner.
When we reached their hotel, everyone got out and I followed Hobi, who had been told to guide me to the elevators (his arm linked in mine) with everyone else while Yoongi went to check on something with the front desk. I should have been suspicious, but at this point I honestly did not care about much of anything. When we got upstairs, we all kicked off our shoes, then the other members dispersed to do their own things, leaving me standing in the entryway clueless, having received no instructions or been bossed around by anyone upon entrance. I gave up and just lay down on the cool tile floor, my head feeling the same terrible way, my eyes unable to see clearly anymore, assuming someone would find me at some point.
Well, someone DID find me, but it was Yoongi, when he returned about five minutes later, carrying two bags, looking like he was a mix between anxious and excited. He kicked off his shoes, then saw me and dropped the bags, came running over, got on my level, and began rapid-firing questions, “Are you hurt? Why are you lying here? Who told you to stay here? Where are the others? How long have you been alone?”
I couldn’t answer, so he ran into another room, frantically searching for someone who knew something about why I was lying in the hallway alone. JK and Tae came running over first, scooping me up and bringing me into the main living room area, then they gently put me down on the couch, hovering like worried relatives. Yoongi appeared again, came straight to me, then explained, “My dear, I am so sorry! The others thought you were with me, or that I would be right behind them, so they didn’t think to tell you what to do. I forgot to warn them about my secret mission when we first arrived back here. I am so sorry for letting you down and I hope you can let me make it up to you tonight.” I nodded, unsure of how else to respond, as he was clearly upset and would not take no for an answer.
He helped me sit up, then stand, giving me his strong arms for balance, as he guided me down the hall to the bathroom he had prepared for me. He sat me down on the toilet seat, then ran from the room, returning with the two bags from earlier. He was so eager to show me what was inside that he slid across the floor, causing me to giggle, since it looked like two of him were rushing around, with my double-vision in full swing. He knelt down in front of me, first handing me a dark green towel, explaining that I had mentioned hating white towels, so he had gotten me a darker one to use. I sat silently as he continued. He also held up a bottle of lavender bubble bath, which I had apparently told him was great for relaxing and helping stomach cramps. He then showed me a cute little cloud portable heating pad he planned to use on my aches and pains.
He then pointed to the pile of clean clothes he had set on the counter, explaining how they were his, so they would be way too big for me, just the way I liked them. I was too stunned to speak, still confused about why he was going through so much effort for a total stranger, and also unsure of what he wanted me to do exactly, so when he gently lifted my chin to look at his face, I saw his smile fade as he saw my tears, something else replacing his excitement, perhaps deep concern or newfound affection? He held both my cheeks in his hands and whispered, “Honey, I know this might be overwhelming right now, and it probably doesn’t make sense, but I promise if you let me spoil you tonight, I will explain everything. You just have to trust me and promise not to argue when I do what’s best for you, even when you want to pretend to be tough. For tonight, can you please let me take care of you the way you deserve? I promise not to disappoint you.”
I could see his honesty and need for approval, so I nodded and replied shakily, “Yes Yoongi, I will do whatever you want tonight.” He smiled and rested his forehead on mine for a moment, then pointed to the tub and explained, “You are going to take a bath with the lavender bubbles I found, then use the dark towel I found, and put on the baggie clothes I have. I promise to be the best possible person in the world for you tonight.” I nodded again, then asked, “Where is my suitcase, Yoongi? I will need a few items from inside, obviously.” He jumped up and carefully took my arm, leading me right next door, where it was sitting, ready for me. I opened it and took out what I needed, knowing Yoongi was watching everything and knowing he would want me to explain. I did not care about being embarrassed at this point- I just wanted to get clean, take pain meds, and sleep forever.
Every item I grabbed he asked what it was for, until I got to the item he had never used before, which caused me to pause for half a second, where I decided to be completely honest with him- no secrets. Once he understood, he was so curious and wanted to know way more details than I was willing to provide at that time, so he accepted my offer to explain more later, no question too personal.
Once I was back in the bathroom, I took the pain meds and Yoongi started the water for the bath, adding the lavender bubbles, then hung the green towel near the tub for me, and left, offering to be nearby in case I needed help. I was so emotionally done that I just nodded and got undressed, putting my work clothes on the counter, pulled the shower curtain closed around the tub, and sank into the warm water, feeling instant relief, vowing to make sure Yoongi knew how amazing he was.
Less than five minutes later, I heard someone singing, so I waited to see if they were just walking past, or if they were going to enter the bathroom- they definitely entered and sat down to use the toilet, literally right next to the tub I was currently in. The singing got MUCH louder, so I giggled, then a pair of big boba black eyes peeked around the shower curtain, where he saw me, covered in bubbles, giggling, my hair floating everywhere. JK laughed, closed the curtain and exclaimed, “I didn’t know you were in here, but oh well. You don’t mind, do you?” I giggled again, since it was clearly too late- he was not going to leave, and it really didn’t bother me- I don’t care about privacy or personal space that much anyway.
He continued singing, then paused, shouting, “Hey, why are you in the tub right now? Do you like baths more than showers?” I laughed out loud this time, clearly needing to answer him, so I replied, “I usually do prefer showers, but tonight Yoongi knew I wasn’t feeling well, so he found some lavender bubbles for me and it’s so relaxing I am thankful he did.” JK then shouted, “Oh! I remember! Because of the period! You need the bath for the period pains!”
I was literally laughing so hard after his response, Jimin and Tae ran in to see what was so funny, then JK explained, them joining in, only partially understanding the joke, as it was kind-of between JK and I in the moment, not as funny when repeated. I guess JK finished using the bathroom at some point because he flushed and washed his hands, then peeked around the curtain to ask if he could join me, which is when Jin got involved, yelling at everyone to get out of the bathroom and leave me in peace. Although he did not step foot into the bathroom, he made it clear that he was there to guard me from any other disruptions, and promised to sit outside the door, after closing it and continuing to yell at the other younger members.
It took me a few minutes to calm down after that, but once I was calm, I continued getting clean, remembering to relax, enjoy the soothing bubbles, and not stress about time- Jin was guarding the door and there were multiple other bathrooms- nobody needed this particular one until I was done. I didn’t soak in the tub for too long, once I noticed my wrinkly toes and fingers, and hopped out, so thankful for the dark towel Yoongi had gotten, and used one of the dreaded white towels for my long hair. I dried my body quickly, then dressed in his large clothes, feeling so much better already. I finished my nighttime routine, including brushing my teeth, then took the towel off my hair, letting it hang down wildly, grabbing my brush and went to the door. I gently opened it, finding Jin sitting in a chair on the opposite wall, just staring up and down the hall, looking super fierce. He saw me, smiled, jumped up, and gave me a double high-five, then picked up the chair and walked away.
I stood still for a second, looking both ways to see if I could tell where Yoongi was, but then was met by Hobi, who smiled and said I looked like I was feeling much better and he was glad about it. Before I could ask where Yoongi was, he had appeared, hearing me speak and knowing I was ready for part two of his plan, whatever that was. He took my hand and pulled me into the room next door, where my suitcase was, then told me to sit on the edge of the bed, where he handed me the adorable heating pad and motioned for me to put it on my stomach, which I did and felt so much warmer. Then he climbed behind me and asked for my brush. He was scared to hurt me at first, which made me giggle, but then he was a pro and soon my wild hair was tame, and I was super relaxed, which he was counting on.
He set the brush down on the nightstand, got up, and knelt down in front of me, then asked, “What did you tell me you wanted more than anything else earlier today?” I just stared at him, having trouble replaying all the things I had said while at work, so he repeated, “You told me you wanted a nap and a cuddle in a dark, quiet, cool room, remember?” I vaguely remembered using those words, so I nodded, which made him smile as he continued, “Instead of a nap, you can have a bedtime cuddle in a dark, quiet, cool room, ok? But I do need to warn you that I am not the only one who likes to cuddle, so please don’t be alarmed if you wake up with lots of us surrounding you- that’s normal for us.” I touched one of his cheeks and whispered, “Yoongi, that sounds wonderful actually. Then I’ll be warm and loved and all squishy with happiness.” He nodded, then helped me climb under the blanket, while he turned off the lights and made sure the curtains were closed and the AC was turned on. He soon joined me and once I was resting my head on his right shoulder, my fingers holding onto his shirt, his arm around me, I was asleep within minutes.
I do not remember anything else about that night, but when I woke up the next morning, I found out he was right; I was facing JK and Tae but had Yoongi and Joon directly behind me. Do not ask me how we were all in that bed, but somehow it worked. I blinked, then stared around the room, trying to figure out of it was super early or late, or if it was ok for me to get up or not when I heard a whisper, “Did you sleep ok?” I carefully turned onto my back and found myself staring right back into Yoongi’s caring eyes, as he brushed some of my wild hairs away from my face. I replied softly, “Yes, I think it was the best sleep I’ve ever had honestly. You guys are so cuddly and I loved it.” He smiled and leaned his forehead onto mine- somehow willing me to read his mind, which I found impossible, so after a few seconds, he sighed and carefully climbed out, then helped me do the same, leaving the other three asleep. Once I was standing, he fully hugged me, allowing me to say, “Yoongi, thank you for everything. I’m sorry I was cranky and I am sorry I didn’t believe in you.”
He gave me a squeeze and kissed the top of my head, then guided me out of the room, pointing me to the bathroom, then headed out to the kitchen himself. When I was done, I washed my hands and wandered down the hallway, assuming the kitchen would be easy to find, and luckily, I was right, but Yoongi wasn’t the only one awake- Jin was standing there, his hair sticking up wildly, matching mine. We both stared at each other for a second, then he pointed at my hair, told me it looked good, laughed, and continued sipping his coffee. I laughed quietly and told him the same thing- we were now besties for life apparently, which I thought was fantastic. Yoongi asked me if I drank coffee, but I didn’t, so he gave me a cup of hot water and a box of tea, so I could choose one. I appreciated their calmness in the mornings, as I was not ready for the loudness or chaos that would occur when the younger members woke up.
We stood in silence until Joon came wandering down the hall, looking just as bewildered as us- he got his coffee, then asked why we were just standing in the kitchen instead of sitting at the table like normal people. We laughed quietly, then moved to the table at his suggestion. I was still giggling on the inside about their wild hair, while Yoongi kept muttering things to them, then sneaking glances at me, but instantly looking away when I caught him, making me super suspicious. Finally, I just death stared at all of them and said, “Whatever you are saying about me is obviously either really mean or really rude so either you need to stop, or you need to start including me in the conversation.”
All three of them stared at me; I’m not sure if it was because nobody had ever spoken to them like that before or because they knew they had been excluding me purposely, but either way my words worked- Joon instantly said, “I am sorry for not including you. We meant no harm. Nothing we said was bad. We actually like you a lot.” I just glared at them all, not willing to forgive them that easily.
Jin did not like my cranky face, so he copied Joon and offered, “I didn’t say anything mean, I promise. You are nice girl and we are best friends.” Which left Yoongi as the main instigator of the conversation, and once he knew he’d been caught, he started turning red and trying to appease me… “I was just… I meant so say… It was only…”
I rolled my eyes, which Joon and Jin started laughing about, then they retreated, leaving Yoongi to get in trouble on his own, which should have made me laugh, but I was too annoyed about being excluded that I couldn’t change course yet. I changed tactics and asked, “Yoongi, if you like having me around and you like me being here, then why are you saying bad things about me in Korean, but not to my face? Have I done something wrong?” He sighed and came to sit closer to me, then explained, “I wasn’t saying anything bad about you at all. I was just explaining to them why I wanted to put so much effort into making you feel comfortable right now and how I wished I could do more, but we both have another day of work ahead of us. I am worried I won’t get to pamper you as much as I would like, so I was asking them for ideas. Also, they were asking me questions about girls, and I didn’t know how to explain, so I was telling them to ask you later.”
It took me a moment to process what he said, then I looked up into his worried eyes and answered, “Ok, I accept your words, but please, don’t exclude me anymore because it’s not fair to me. I deserve to be a part of the conversations, especially if I am the topic. Can you at least agree with me on that?” He nodded and rubbed one of my cheeks, clearly asking for forgiveness, which I think he knew I would give him anyway. I then asked what he had meant by both of us had another day of work. I thought they were only performing yesterday at the music festival? He nodded, then explained that today they had interviews to do, and a photoshoot for some collab they were doing- even on their “off” days, they have work to do. I sighed, saddened by the fact that I couldn’t see him as much that day, but then Yoongi reached for my hand and said, “The good news is, our schedule is also shortened like yours, so we will be able to see each other much earlier today and I will make sure you don’t have to worry about anything after work. Can you trust me for one more day?” I could not focus while he was tracing my fingers with his, while also leaning extremely close to my face, which I think he was counting on to get me to agree with his plan.
Once our tea and coffee were done, he brought the cups to the kitchen and came back for me, pulling me into a hug, whispering, “I think it’s adorable how you react to being close to me and I hope you know you have the same effect on me, I’m just better at hiding it from you.” I kept my face hidden in his neck for a minute or two, then attempted to look up at his face to see if I should be embarrassed or not, but he was looking at me like I was the most important person on the planet, and I couldn’t be mad at that.
